Glycolierral® The scent of "green" is hard to beat in nature. However, this fresh accord goes far beyond "grass" and "Granny Smith" in the synthetic fragrance palette. Givaudan's herbaceous molecule Glycolierral® captures the cool scent of a crushed ivy leaf – hence the name "lierre" (from the French for ivy). THE FRAGRANCE: Thinking Green Shisõ – pronounced with a long "o" in Japanese, it means "modern thinking." However, if you pronounce the word with a short "o," you experience the uniquely complex aroma of the shiso leaf on your tongue. Shiso is a widely cultivated herb in Asia and is very rare in the perfume world, but indispensable in Japanese cuisine. Its scent – a blend of mint, basil, and cumin – has long fascinated perfumer Bertrand Duchaufour. With shi_sõ, he has reinterpreted the classic genre of Eau de Cologne: a kaleidoscope of vibrant, green notes instead of the traditional citrus accord. Sparkling, piquant cardamom, cool mint, the freshness of verbena, bittersweet blackcurrant, and tart rhubarb, immersed in glycolerral, result in an aromatic masterpiece.
